Alpha Course and Video Project 2003
For the last four years the church has been running an Alpha course once or
twice a year. The Alpha course explores the meaning of life and is a practical
introduction to the Christian faith. We have had a very rewarding and enjoyable
time running this course over eleven week periods. The evening begins with
a meal followed by video and discussion and is to be recommended for non-churchgoers
and new christians from within the church.

In 2003 we decided to take the 'So Who Is This Jesus' video project around the village of Scapegoat Hill and Nettleton Hill. The whole village was divided up into six areas and after training sessions and much prayer, volunteers from the church went out in two's around their areas. Each household was offered a video and an opportunity for this to be followed up by a visit and completion of a 7 point questionnaire.
We were all delighted at the take up of the videos. One of the questions ask if the viewers would like to attend a follow up group on the basics of christian belief. This follow up group was the 'Y' Course, a course created to be totally relevant for people making their first real contact with Christian belief as well as for those with church links. This course was run over an eight week period, again with a video and discussion and was appreciated by all those attending. Praise the Lord two of the participants have now given their lives to Christ and been baptised.
