December 2009

Dear friends,

Happiness and joy on this special season as we celebrate Christ's birth together.

Christ Child - the most amazing miracle of all time is that the Lord of all creation became a baby so He could experience our earthly life.

Hope - His coming brings hope. His presence, love, guidance, healing and protection can be depended upon.

Resurrection - Jesus overcame death and bears the scars from His sacrifice on the Cross, confirmation that we will be with Him in heaven. He is alive now, and intercedes for us.

Immanuel - God with us. Jesus walked, taught and lived in Galilee, a sign that God is with us as we journey through life.

Sins Price - is paid and we can live in the sure and certain knowledge that God accepts us and loves us.

Twelve Disciples - Jesus never wrote books or projected His image worldwide. He shared His life with His disciples and left His mission in their safe hands. They were faithful to His call and millions have come to believe in Jesus personally and love Him for themselves.

Mass - Origionally people went to Church on the 25th of December to remember Jesus birthday and celebrate with Bread and Wine. He asked us to do in remembrance of Him.

Advent - His birth as Messiah was expected. The Old Testament makes references to it and John the Baptist announced His coming. Christians still wait expectantly for His second coming which will issue in a time of World Peace, Blessing and Healing.

Salvation - Jesus offered His life so we can live ours.

May these thoughts encourage and bless us as we spend time with our friends and family.

All your deacons are aware that this year has been difficult for many people, both in the Church and in the Community. We want you to know that we care, that you are in our prayers. May His presence with you strengthen you in times of loneliness and sadness.

A happy Christmas and every blessing in 2010.

Helga Taylor

On behalf of the Diaconate
